The Clinical Business Unit provides globally recognised scientific leadership in the area of clinical and toxicology. We use that understanding to direct the development of innovative products and solutions to be workflow-based, enabling our customers to tackle critical analytical challenges and advance scientific understanding.
A Senior Scientist in the Forensic and Toxicology team, Clinical Business Unit, is responsible for providing scientific contributions that impact projects, to position Waters as the leading speciality measurement company. This involves crafting new science, technologies, methods, and practices and involves the generation and presentation of scientific content using Water\’s product portfolio to support business activities and new product development.

Responsibilities
The work will be focused on the Forensic and Toxicology Application areas.
A Senior Scientist in the Assay Research team will:
- Develop robust LC-MS workflow solutions for use in toxicology screening and clinical toxicology research application areas in accordance with processes and procedures
- Ensure flawless transfer of robust LC-MS clinical diagnostic assays to the Assay Development team for the execution of design control activities
- Support forensic screening applications, including the use of RADIAN ASAP technology and workflows for the analysis of seized drugs.
- Develop marketing collateral and scientific posters
- Evaluate new instrumentation, software, and consumables
- Support the transfer of knowledge for applications, hardware, software, and consumables to internal and external partners
- Present scientific work at conferences and Waters\’ internal and external meetings
Qualifications
Education:
- Qualified to degree level or higher in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related life sciences.
Experience:
- Shown experience in LC-MS/MS method development for the analysis and quantification of small and large molecules from biological matrices.
- Proven technical experience in experimental design, method validation (FDA or EMA Bioanalytical method Validation and/or CLSI guidelines), and data evaluation.
- Experience in forensic or clinical toxicology applications and statistical analysis would be an advantage.
Proficiencies:
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the Design of Experiments and statistical analysis.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
- Experience in working with GLP and QMS.
Travel (If Applicable):
- This role would have an element of travel up to 10% of your time, to present your work at scientific conferences and Waters events, as well as visiting customer sites.
