Waterman Primary School, part of HEARTS Academy Trust, is recruiting a nursery nurse for its Early Years provision. The post centres on positive interactions with children, meeting their individual needs and promoting good behaviour, while helping teachers plan, resource and evaluate activities. A large part of the role is daily personal care, including snack times, toileting, personal hygiene, first aid and administering medication. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the start date is November 2026.
What the job involves
- Provide positive interactions with children and support them according to their individual needs
- Promote positive behaviour
- Assist teachers in planning, resourcing and evaluating activities
- Record detailed observations and give feedback on children's progress and behaviour
- Help children at snack times
- Attend to children's personal needs, including first aid and administering medication
- Support personal hygiene and toileting

- Enhanced DBS check including children's barred list check
- Satisfactory references meeting KCSIE requirements
- Satisfactory online search
- Prohibition from teaching check where applicable
- Satisfactory application form
Nice to have
- GCSE maths and English at grade 4/C or above
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare
- Experience of working with children in an Early Years environment
