Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lead Design & Mentorship

An opportunity has arisen within Waterman Building Services London, for the position of Principal Mechanical Engineer. Working as a key member of the team, you will be provided with the autonomy to design Mechanical services in many sectors of the industry and be client facing, representing the Company.

• Leading multidisciplinary projects from start to completion.
• Managing interaction with clients/design team members.
• Overseeing technical delivery and ensuring projects meet quality, compliance, and performance standards.
• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Driving innovation and best practices across the mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Contributing to recruitment, retention and development of top engineering talent.
• Representing Waterman at industry events, building and maintaining relationships with industry colleagues.

• Significant experience in mechanical building services design across regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to influence engineering outcomes and lead design teams.
• Strong proficiency with MagiCAD, Relux, Amtech/EOM, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence to engage clients and stakeholders at all levels.
• Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards it.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering technically excellent, sustainable designs.
