We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Contract) to join our Building Services team in Manchester. This role will involve delivering high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on technically challenging schemes across multiple sectors. Experience in healthcare projects would be highly beneficial, alongside exposure to commercial, residential, and other sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical design solutions for building services projects from concept through to completion
  • Undertake design calculations, specifications, and detailed drawings
  • Work across a variety of sectors including healthcare, commercial, residential, industrial, and education
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and efficient design delivery
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK regulations, standards, and industry best practice
  • Support project delivery to meet programme, budget, and quality requirements
  • Provide technical input during construction stages, including site visits where required

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a building services consultancy or contractor environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design
  • Experience using relevant design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Experience working on healthcare projects (highly desirable)
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
