PermanentWaterman Group is looking for an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join our growing Building Services team in Manchester.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career, or an existing Associate looking for a new challenge. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of a diverse range of building services projects across commercial, residential, education, leisure and other sectors.You will combine strong technical expertise with project leadership, client engagement and team development, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of projects while helping to support the continued growth of our Manchester Building Services team.**Key Responsibilities*** Lead and manage the electrical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion.* Take responsibility for the technical quality and delivery of electrical engineering packages.* Design and review electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, containment, fire alarm, earthing and lightning protection.* Produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.* Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural and other project disciplines.* Attend and lead client, design team and project meetings, providing clear and confident technical advice.* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders.* Manage project programmes, resources and technical deliverables.* Review and check the work of other engineers and provide technical guidance where required.* Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to develop their technical and professional skills.* Support the preparation of fee proposals, tenders and bids.* Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new work.* Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Manchester Building Services team.* Support the wider business and work collaboratively with Waterman's multidisciplinary teams.* Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, CIBSE guidance, Building Regulations and other applicable legislation.**About You**We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building services consultancy and the confidence to take ownership of projects, clients and technical delivery.You will ideally have:* Significant experience working within a Building Services / MEP consultancy.* Strong experience designing electrical systems for buildings.* Experience working across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, leisure, healthcare or similar.* Strong technical knowledge across LV electrical distribution, lighting, small power and associated building services systems.* Experience taking responsibility for projects and managing technical delivery.* Strong client-facing and communication skills.* Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team.* Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.* An understanding of project budgets, programmes, resources and commercial considerations.* The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.* Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership with an appropriate professional institution would be advantageous.* A proactive and commercial approach, with an interest in helping to develop both clients and the wider business.
