Experience required:
- Essential: Civil Engineering degree or equivalent or evidence of experience in the highways sector
- Commercial awareness in the delivery of projects
- Awareness / experience of Local Highway Authority standards
- Evidence of developing assistant engineers, graduates, and technicians
- Working knowledge of programming tools such as ASTA
- Evidence of managing Health & Safety & Environment in design and construction
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software including for drainage, alignment, and traffic signs (desirable). Civil 3D experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of highway design guidance and standards including Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 (Low Traffic Neighbourhood), TSRGD (Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions), MCDHW and other relevant codes of practice and design standards
- Ability to compile specifications and Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
- Understanding of CDM (Construction Design Management) 2015 regulations
- Computer literate particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Full UK/EEC driving licence
