Experience required…
Essential :
- Level 4 qualification (e.g.HNC) or above in a relevant discipline such as transport planning, engineering, geography etc.
- Significant experience in shaping transport policy and strategy.
- Experience of transport modelling and business case development.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of project management.
- Understand the strategic context of how transport schemes are delivered.
- Able to lead and manage staff and teams.
- Ability to use analytical and judgmental skills to deliver solutions.
- Interpersonal skills, able to engage and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Project and financial management skills.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to communicate complex and contentious information both verbally (e.g. presentation) and in writing (e.g. reports).
Desirable :
- Chartered Transport Planner or other relevant professional qualification
- Experience using PARAMICS, VISUM or similar microsimulation models
