Joining Waterman Aspen as an Area Manager will see you as a key member of the Warwickshire and Worcestershire team. The role of an Area Manager is an exciting and unique blend whereby you can develop people management and recruitment skills as well as continuing with your professional career in a hands-on technical role.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Proactive recruitment and interviewing of technical candidates and appraising their suitability.
- Business development with clients including working to a strategic business plan.
- Assisting Senior Management with Professional Service Frameworks and contracts.
- Colleague management and support including mentoring, annual colleague progression reviews, planning training and career development.
- Attending networking events, socials and CPD seminars.
- Progressing your technical career on a secondment with a public or private sector client.
Experience required…
Essential:
- Experience in civil or structural engineering, traffic engineering or transport planning, or related discipline
- Experienced in a public sector organisation or consultancy environment.
- Capacity for learning business development, recruiting and commercial skills.
- Knowledge of local marketplace for people like you.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive outlook and enthusiastic attitude.
- Comfortable amongst seniors, peers and juniors.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience in, or aptitude for people management.
- Ambition to develop management skills and a quick learner.
- Adept at time management.
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Degree or HNC level qualification or have equivalent UK experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional Institution.
