THE COMPANY – Waterman Aspen provides Specialist Secondment Services. We are a leading supplier of technical and professional staff to public sector clients and consultant partners throughout the UK. Our core offering is in the infrastructure sector, but we also support clients in environmental, water, buildings and rail.
THE ROLE In the role you will be a key member of the Structural team and be responsible for:
- Assist in the delivery of projects to meet work briefs for maintenance, strengthening and reconstruction
- Design of existing and new bridge and highway structures
- Assessment of string courses, design of bridge refurb and strengthening schemes, foundation and substructure design
- Scheme investigation, preliminary and detailed design, scheme procurement and tendering, inspections and assessments and producing AIP documentation
- Assessment and design calculations using relevant standards (DMRB, British Standards, Eurocodes)
- Producing scheme drawings (existing, proposed and RC detailing)
- Assisting in the delivery of technical outputs of projects (producing PCIs, specifications & H&S risk registers)
THE CANDIDATE You must be competent in the following areas:
- A Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrable broad in-depth experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures
- Understand undertaking Bridge / Structural Engineering design to BSs, ECs, DMRB, MCHW and CDM 2015
- Experience working on Highways England schemes or with Local Authorities
- Working towards BEng, CEng or similar
- A full UK driving licence is essential
THE PACKAGE This position offers a competitive basic salary (the salary is flexible depending on your experience and skills).
