Waterman Aspen North West are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer who will be responsible for the design and delivery of schemes. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for project management and provide a team leadership role in a multi-disciplinary environment working on a wide variety of schemes.

Requirements:

  • Ideally, you will hold a BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent and working towards or have achieved a Chartership CEng.
  • Able to demonstrate managing a team, resources and finances in a competitive Highways environment.
  • Prepare fee proposals based on number of hours to complete activities.
  • To be confident to review and sign off deliverables in any given scheme.
  • Able to demonstrate the submission of schemes, including all its deliverables as well as processing start-up and call-off procedures.
  • Must have experience in the reviewing and preparation of contract drawings and specifications.
  • Ideally have experience in Section 38 and 278, 104 and 106 Agreements.
  • Have knowledge and experience in highways design for local authority and/or Highways England schemes.
  • To have good working knowledge of the MCHW, DMRB and contract documentation to NEC3.
  • To be well versed with the NRSWA procedures and to be able to open and complete negotiations with Statutory Undertakers.
