About Us

The Waterloo Tap is a vibrant, fast-paced, wet-led craft beer bar located in the heart of Waterloo. We pride ourselves on serving an exceptional line-up of cask ales, craft beers, and spirits to a diverse mix of daily commuters, craft beer enthusiasts, and locals.

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Assistant General Manager in helping to run daily operations. You will be instrumental in leading the front-of-house team, maintaining our high service standards, and driving the commercial success of one of London’s busiest craft beer spots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shift Management: Lead daily floor and bar operations, ensuring fast, friendly, and efficient service during peak volume.
  • Team Leadership: Assist in training, mentoring, and motivating bar staff, maintaining a positive team culture.
  • Cellar & Stock Control: Manage cellar operations, including cask and keg maintenance, line cleaning, stock rotation, and ordering.
  • Financial & Admin Support: Help manage staff rotas to line up with labour targets, monitor sales targets, and assist with stock takes.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain strict standards for venue cleanliness, venue safety and licensing compliance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a high-volume pub or wet-led bar environment.
  • Deep passion for craft beer, cask ale, and the broader drinks industry.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cellar management and line maintenance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and late shifts.
