Waterhouse-Kern Associates is proud to be partnering with a leading consumer lending business to find a new Senior Product Manager.
Job purpose
Based in the London HQ, you will lead the Product & Project Delivery team. You will be hardworking, tenacious and up for a challenge! But most importantly, ready to play a critical role in the delivery of the client's ambitious growth strategy.
Your role in delivery
The role will drive software change and delivery projects within their loan and credit card business, applying product thinking and an outcome-focused mindset to ensure successful execution. This is not a classic product manager role; your focus will be on delivering customer value through technology change, not end-to-end ownership of a product’s journey. This means you will be someone who brings “product thinking” to your delivery and change projects—essentially, someone to manage software delivery with a product mindset, focusing on outcomes and user value, but embedded within specific projects and programs.
Your role in the team
As the leader of the Product & Project Delivery team you will be highly visible - communicating team progress, plans and priorities to stakeholders and senior leaders across the business. You will meet with the CEO on a daily basis to update on the status of all live initiatives, taking direction on priority and approach. You will use your experience to align the Product & Project Delivery team around common delivery practices - drawing on the best of Agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches to find the right balance for the client.
Desirable skills and experience
- You will have 5+ years of product management experience building/scaling financial services products.
- You will have significant and demonstrable experience in leading complex digital products in a fast moving environment, blended with a pragmatic approach to delivering in resource and time constrained environments.
- You will be flexible and responsive, with the ability to adjust and change direction as the business environment and technology universe evolves and changes.
- You’ll be experienced in analysing and using data to inform decisions or influence stakeholders.
- You’ll be an excellent communicator – able to command a senior audience.
- You will have led cross-functional teams through the agile execution process from conception, requirements gathering, design, development, and testing through to launch.
- You will be fluent in Jira and Confluence, using them to manage project, iteration, epic, story, and task levels, including the backlog and upcoming features definition.
- You will have an eye for detail, able to provide detailed updates on all Product and Project Delivery team live initiatives on a daily basis.
