We are seeking an inspiring, resilient leader to establish and head our brand-new SEMH Support Base. In this role, you will design the environment, lead a dedicated support team, and champion relational, “nurture-first” practices across our school. You will deliver a bespoke, flexible curriculum spanning KS1 and KS2, balancing academic ambition with intensive social and emotional coaching to provide our most vulnerable learners a safe pathway to success.
If you are a reflective practitioner who thrives on challenge and believes in the power of restorative practice, we want to hear from you. As a HLTA you will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum working in a variety of roles:
- Supporting individuals or small groups with SEND
- Delivering and leading interventions
- Supporting learning of groups within a classroom setting
- Covering in teacher absence delivering lessons you have planned to the class
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative practitioner who is passionate about their work and the impact it can have on children’s development and education. Applicants must bring energy, initiative and a nurturing approach to our children with a focus on driving standards to provide and lead high quality care and education for all.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has high expectations of themselves and the team and children they work with
- Is knowledgeable about how children learn across the full primary age range
- Can take responsibility for the management of the class in the absence of a teacher
- Can plan and deliver whole class and group teaching sessions to a high standard
- Is patient, nurturing and positive, able to build relations built on trust and respect
- Is flexible and able to adapt quickly to support colleagues, children and families
- Has excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills
- Is able to work in partnership with colleagues, parents and outside agencies to secure the best outcomes for our children and families
