Based at our Central Office location The Hangar (St Mawgan, near Newquay) and reporting to our Sales and Marketing Director, you’ll plan and execute our annual marketing and PR strategy for Watergate Bay Hotel and its collection of sub-brands (including The Beach Hut and Zacry’s), and our year-round events calendar alongside our Marketing team. You’ll be instrumental in connecting with, and inspiring, our guests, promoting Watergate Bay Hotel’s destination, branding, and tone of voice, through competitive marketing strategies, and joining our team at an exciting time as we embark upon, and set into motion, our brand rearticulation. This role is offered on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday, with predominantly office-based working hours.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Developing our annual content calendar and distribution plan to deliver engaging brand storytelling.
- Creating hero content with the copywriting team, including newsletters.
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on marketing performance and KPIs.
- Managing social, PPC and advertising activity with internal teams and external agencies.
- Delivering sales-led campaigns to meet budgeted room, restaurant and sports revenues.
- Managing end-to-end content production across social and web, including creative briefs, shoots and media libraries.
- Growing and managing the email marketing database and newsletter programme.
- Partnering with PR agencies to deliver campaigns and build relationships with journalists, creators and influencers.
- Working cross-functionally to optimise websites, SEO, social communities and overall user experience.
- Collaborating with local partners to promote events and community activity.
You’ll also:
- Work with our Head of Sustainability and Engagement to weave in sustainability initiatives and supplier stories to our content.
- Plan and execute reactive campaigns for seasonal offers, last minute activity and non-resident guests.
- Liaise with event organisers and sponsors as required to deliver marketing and PR activity associated with the events, where necessary.
- Be a strong advocate for the brand externally and internally, building and maintaining a positive brand reputation.
- Adhere to company GDPR rules and procedures at all times.
- Be willing to work outside usual hours (including weekends) to assist with events.
What you’ll be sharing with us:
- At least 4 years’ experience within a Hospitality Marketing Manager role (or equivalent), managing a marketing budget and strategy.
- Relevant marketing qualifications and marketing and sales experience to a high level.
- Excellent written and communication skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Experience of email marketing software experience (ideally Revinate and Mailchimp).
- Familiarity with Google and webmaster tools, social media platforms, and scheduling or monitoring tools, with Sprout Social considered a bonus.
- An understanding of the distribution network and channels available for our content.
- Experience of PR campaigns and media monitoring.
- Proficiency in PMS software such as ResortSuite, Agilysys and ResDiary (desirable).
- Familiarity with project management software such as Trello (desirable).
