Our Housekeeping Porterrole
As our Housekeeping Porter, you'llprovidea warm welcome andassistguests with their arrival and departure, ensuring their stayissmooth and memorable.
From transporting luggage and escorting guests to their rooms to sharing helpful information about our facilities and services, you’llhelp set the tone for every stay and share the warmth and spirit of Watergate Bay Hotel.
You’lltake pride in what you do, enjoy working with people, have a good eye for detail and love creating memorable experiences for our guests.
In return, we’llsupport you from day one with training and encouragement, helping you build the skills and confidence to thrive in the role.
This is a full-time position, working five days out of seven, from 10am–4pm, including weekends. As part of the role, you’llalso need to hold a clean driving licence.

- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
- Availability to work weekends
- Previoushousekeeping experience is desirable
- Previousexperience in a similar hotel, facilities, or maintenance role is preferred, but not essential
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- A keen eye for detail and pride in your work
- Flexible and willing to support other departments when needed
- A helpful, team-focused approach and a willingness to go the extra mile
- A full, clean driving licence and be aged 25 or over (for insurance purposes)
- Whatyou’llbe responsible for
- Assistingguests with their luggage during check-in and check-out, providing a friendly and helpful service
- Collecting, transportingand sorting used hotel laundry ready for collection by our laundry supplier
- Collecting and distributing fresh laundry to Housekeeping cupboards throughout the hotel
- Keeping Housekeeping cupboards and pantries well stocked, organised and maintained
- Ensuringdepartmentshave theappropriate linenand equipment needed to clean guest rooms, corridorsand communal areas
- Keeping hotel corridors clear of used laundry, equipment and other items collected from guest rooms
- Supportingour Housekeeping team with room cleaning during busy periods
- Assistingwith guest room moves by safelyrelocatingguests’ luggage
