At Watergate Bay Hotel, we create a welcoming, relaxed and professional environment where guests can unwind and recharge. Using sustainably sourced, natural and ethical products, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional treatments and memorable experiences.

You'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Swim Club, leading and inspiring our talented Therapists and Café Bar Assistants. We offer a wide range of beauty treatments, from manicures to facials, with a maximum of 4 hours allocated for massage treatments per day. Supported by our Assistant Swim Club Manager, you'll ensure exceptional guest care, operational excellence and a positive, supportive team culture. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a fantastic range of team benefits that reflect our work-life balance and active relaxation ethos.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Swim Club and Ocean Lounge, ensuring spaces are welcoming, safe, clean and beautifully presented.
  • Leading, motivating and developing the Swim Club team, taking ownership of recruitment, training, rotas, performance management and team wellbeing.
  • Managing bookings, treatment schedules and the overall guest journey, ensuring consistently exceptional service and high standards of guest care.
  • Overseeing the Therapist and Café Bar teams, ensuring professional treatments, excellent food and beverage service, and effective stock management.
  • Taking a hands-on approach to the operation, delivering treatments, hosting and supporting Café Bar service when required.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety, while ensuring facilities and equipment are well maintained.
  • Driving commercial performance through retail, treatment and Café Bar sales, monitoring costs and identifying opportunities to grow revenue, guest spend and profitability, while working closely with the wider hotel team.

You'll also:

  • Handle guest feedback, enquiries and complaints with care and professionalism.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, hygiene and fire regulations, maintaining accurate records and a safe environment.
  • Share and collate departmental feedback to support ongoing improvement and communication.
  • Help foster a positive, open and supportive team culture built on clarity and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience managing or running a spa, wellness facility, leisure club or similar guest-focused environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, with strong people-management and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience as a therapist, with a good understanding of treatments, professional spa standards and the therapist guest experience.
  • A genuine passion for wellness, alongside the ability to manage multiple areas of a busy operation.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, or an equivalent qualification such as BTEC or ITEC Level 3.
  • The ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Even better if you have:

  • Food and beverage experience within a hotel, restaurant, café or leisure environment.
  • Additional qualifications in specialist or holistic therapies, such as hot stone massage, reflexology, pregnancy or oncology massage.
  • Experience working across multiple guest-facing departments, ideally within a hospitality setting.
