Field-based UK Wide - the ideal candidate will be located in North West area (Manchester, Liverpool, Stoke). Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off! If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading, well-respected water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in giving our customers the best in class quality service, focusing on the Municipal market, by working on a number of sewage and drinking water treatment sites.

As part of this role, a flexible approach to customers’ needs and working hours is required and may include the need for you to work some weekends and during some public holidays. You will also be included on a rota to provide out of hours cover and rapid response to our clients.

Some more brief responsibilities of a Service Engineer are:

  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with customers through providing best in class quality service by; Always being punctual, helpful and courteous.
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance and commissioning work.
  • Timely submission of work reports, time sheets and all other documentation.
  • The timely completion of site tasks and activities as required.
  • Offering the client after-sales technical and commercial support and feedback on future product development, features and functions.
  • Looking for recommendations and opportunities to improve the clients system, (reliability or productivity) and where appropriate QOF the client for parts, consumables or plant.
  • Undertaking upgrades and refurbishment work.
  • For all of the above, provide regular updates to your line manager on any issues that may result in financial, reputational or operational impact on the Company.
  • Carry out breakdown work – troubleshooting /fault finding.
  • Liaise and work with the appropriate sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Service Engineer in the Healthcare and Scientific industry.
  • A qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the company products, applications and markets.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with previous client facing experience.
  • Punctual and presentable.
  • Knowledge and experience in water treatment is desirable.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Passionate about providing a first-class service to our customers.
  • Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find a resolution.
  • A good level of IT competency.
  • Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
