Overview: We are currently seeking a Proposals/Tendering Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality tenders and cost proposals for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects in the water industry (both clean and wastewater sectors). The environment is fast-paced, and we’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, is self-motivated, and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and complete tender submissions for M&E projects in the water sector.
- Interpret technical documentation, drawings, and client specifications to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (engineering, procurement, and delivery) to gather technical and commercial input.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations for inclusion in tender packages.
- Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements, company procedures, and relevant industry standards.
- Support pre- and post-tender clarification processes, including attending site visits and client meetings as required.
- Maintain and improve pricing models, templates, and cost databases to support estimating efficiency.
Experience:
- Experience within engineering M&E and or the water sector.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong initiative, reliability, and punctuality.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
