We’re looking for extraordinary people to become Water Babies teachers, helping babies and pre-school children reach their full potential as part of our world-class swimming program. You don’t need to have any previous swimming teaching experience, training will be provided at every turn, but you do need two years experience in a customer facing role, a full driving licence, access to a car and to be happy working a day at the weekend.
The position would suit someone from a retail, customer service or childcare background as well as someone with previous experience teaching swimming. Good teachers can deliver compassion when you need support, companionship when you need a friend and just the right boost that our little ones need to reach their next big milestone in life. But most importantly of all, the lifesaving skills that we teach at Water Babies have helped to prevent tragic accidents time and time again.
We know that to see the face of a child that has just managed to accomplish something for the first time is worth its weight in gold. Being a Water Babies teacher is a demanding job, but you get so much back from it in return. As a team, we have great fun and work extremely well together – because we care about each other and we’ll support you through thick and thin.
Rates of pay are £18.50/£21.00 per hour depending on the day, typical teachers have a 6-12 hour week across 1-3 days, during school term time, consisting of a large weekend shift and a couple of smaller weekday shifts. There is potentially the option to teach larger shifts on both weekend days raising the overall number of hours beyond 12. There may also be the opportunity over time to grow into a role involved in the running of the local Water Babies office.
Responsibilities:- Lead customers and their children in weekly swimming classes, delivering the highest quality of tuition in line with Water Babies' standards.
- Create engaging lesson plans tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns from parents.
- Drive to different locations as needed for lessons and events.
