The role of Assistant Manager is integral to the success of any hospitality business. You are the eyes and ears on the ground; collecting feedback from customers and team to share with your management team. You support the manager with back of house tasks as well as ensuring the smooth and successful service is happening each day. We take the role of Assistant Manager very seriously at WatchHouse, as we see them as the future managers of the business. You’ll have access to a range of in House learning and development programmes and the opportunity for promotion and transfer across the sites as the company develops. Key aspects of the role:

  • Lead, inspire and motivate the team so that everyone performs to their absolute best, alongside the House Manager. Effectively managing the large team on site and working alongside them to deliver the Modern Coffee experience.
  • Drive to build a high performing House focusing on KPIs. Continuing to look for ways to drive your shop’s financial performance.
  • A people-focused Manager, always getting the best from the people around them.
  • Demonstrate unparalleled hospitality by creating a warm, positive and welcoming atmosphere. High standards of food and beverage service in a fast paced environment.
  • Ensure opens and closes run smoothly, admin and issues are dealt with proactively, and the cafe is always appropriately stocked with products and equipment.
  • Encourage and create a vibrant, exciting and sociable place of work.
  • Be driven by high standards and instill this same motivation within your team.

About you:

  • A hands-on inspiring leader with an eye for detail, a love of great food and coffee, with a commitment to delivering unrivaled customer experience.
  • An autonomous manager who takes full ownership for their cafe and their team.
  • A natural leader. The Assistant House Manager leads the team in the efficient running of the coffee bar both front and back of house in order to achieve operational excellence. They manage our locations in the absence of the House Manager.
  • A passion for the development and training of people in order to build and develop a highly skilled and high-achieving team that can cope with the pressures and demands of a high volume site.

This is a full time role contracted to 40 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 per week, weekend work is expected.
