Responsibilities

  • Create, review and execute a Purchasing Plan that allows for the delivery of the budget sales, incorporating units and ASP by each market, price point, brand and channel.
  • Own updates to the plan at relevant milestones (budget and LE cycles) as required.
  • Take feedback from the Commercial Performance function on how actual purchasing performance impacts sales and re-phase as necessary.
  • Identify and set stock assortments by market based on internal and external data insight where available.
  • Participate in defining a relevant set of stock KPIs to monitor gaps versus objectives.
  • Monitor in real time the execution of the purchasing plan and liaise with UK and International Purchasing Managers to ensure the plan is delivered as intended, including re-forecasting when necessary.
  • Propose corrective actions and solutions to align purchasing trends with objectives, working closely with the Pricing Team on matters of conversion and offer values.
  • Plan and monitor procurement inquiries such as quotes, MSL, 1p, 2p.
  • Ensure the Purchasing Plan is shared with all relevant department heads (Servicing, Purchasing, Logistics, Marketing) so they can plan accordingly and flag any concerns about resource gaps.
  • Execute the "publish to purchase" lifecycle reporting and bring stakeholders together to monitor progress versus plan, identifying problem areas or bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to identify inventory areas for promotional campaigns, ensuring sales activities do not harm future coverage or sales.
  • Analyse data, build dashboards and reports to monitor performance and deviations against objectives for Merchandise Planning & Purchasing.
  • Own reporting of daily, weekly and monthly published output volumes and brand/price point/entity conversions.
  • Address ad-hoc data requests related to merchandise planning, purchasing and inventory.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or Merchandising within an international, digitally active company.
  • Strong people skills and excellent communication ability.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong business sense.
  • Comfortable with data and able to work with IT on ERP developments.
  • Organised and efficient, able to maintain a top-down view while paying excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines.
