We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager to join our client playing a key role in managing the commercial aspects of a Local Authority’s major waste management contracts across the Liverpool City Region. This role is critical to ensuring that contracted commercial arrangements deliver on agreed terms, provide excellent value for money, and are managed effectively on behalf of residents and the District Councils across the region. The successful candidate will also support the Authority’s Contracts section in the delivery of major projects and the implementation of significant changes to contract terms and arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on all commercial matters relating to the management of the Authority’s primary waste management contracts, identifying and managing key commercial risks to ensure optimal outcomes for the Authority, residents and District Councils.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the Authority and with District Council partners to ensure a holistic approach to commercial optimisation of contract services.
- Develop and implement effective controls, treatments and management strategies to address commercial risks in both the short and long term.
- Coordinate the interpretation and application of the contract Payment Mechanism and other commercial provisions, working with internal colleagues to ensure accurate, transparent and auditable processes.
