Our client is a specialist waste broker with over 18 years of industry experience and a proud team of 35+ local employees. As their business continues to grow, we’re looking for an ambitious and customer-focused Waste & Recycling Advisor to join the high-performing team. If you’re a confident communicator with a passion for sales, customer service, and closing warm leads, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Waste & Recycling Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, helping to deliver an outstanding experience while converting inbound enquiries into long-term client relationships. This is a fast-paced, target-driven role ideal for someone with a competitive edge and a consultative sales approach. You’ll handle inbound enquiries from both domestic and corporate customers and will be supported by excellent training and ongoing development to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and respond to customer emails within agreed SLAs and KPIs
- Make proactive outbound calls to grow sales and nurture customer relationships
- Listen carefully to customer needs and provide tailored waste management solutions
- Take ownership of customer enquiries, including escalated issues or complaints
- Administer customer accounts, including data cleansing, bookings, reports, and invoice queries
- Communicate effectively across our depot network to resolve customer queries
- Meet and exceed performance targets for quality, productivity, and sales conversion
Essential Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A strong desire to win business and outperform targets
The Person We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in customer service, outbound sales, or telesales
- Confident, resilient, and target-driven with a positive mindset
- Comfortable making and receiving high volumes of calls
- Able to handle rejection while staying motivated
- A true team player with a collaborative and creative approach
- Willingness to learn – waste industry knowledge is an advantage but not essential
