The Opportunity We are working with an established international engineering and machinery manufacturer specialising in innovative solutions for recycling, material recovery, renewable energy and the recovery of raw materials. As part of their continued growth in the UK market, they are looking to appoint a Sales Manager to develop and manage sales of their high-performance shredders and crushers into the waste management, recycling and Energy from Waste (EfW) sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who understands the waste and recycling market and can identify opportunities where high-value processing equipment can deliver genuine operational and commercial benefits. The company designs and builds solutions that enable customers to transform municipal, industrial, commercial and wood-based waste streams into valuable raw materials and renewable energy. Supported by local networks and global partners, they provide customers with equipment, technology and service internationally. The Role As the client is looking to develop the UK market, this role will initially be offered as a contract role, with a view to becoming permanent if there is demonstrable progress and success. We are looking for candidates who are resilient and proactive. They will need to identify opportunities and be adept and creating business development opportunities, whilst working with the Regional European managers to create strategy and to close deals. Key Responsibilities * Develop and execute a UK sales strategy for shredding and crushing equipment. * Identify, target and develop new customers and sales opportunities across the waste, recycling and EfW sectors. * Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers, site managers, operations teams and technical stakeholders. * Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and site visits through to quotation, negotiation and contract award. * Understand customers' waste streams, processing requirements and operational challenges and translate these into suitable equipment solutions. * Promote a range of industrial shredders and crushers for different applications. * Conduct customer and site visits, equipment assessments and product demonstrations where required. * Prepare and present commercial and technical proposals. About You We are looking for an experienced B2B sales professional with a strong understanding of the UK waste, recycling, EfW or related industrial processing markets. You may currently be working in sales of shredders, crushers, screens, conveyors, MRF equipment, recycling machinery, waste processing equipment, mobile plant or other capital equipment. Alternatively, you may have a strong technical or operational background within the waste and recycling industry and have moved into a commercially focused sales role. You will ideally have: * Proven experience in sales/business development within the waste, recycling, EfW or industrial machinery sectors. * Experience selling capital equipment, processing machinery or technical solutions. * A strong understanding of waste processing and material recovery applications. * An established network of contacts within the UK waste, recycling or EfW markets. * The ability to understand customer requirements and develop technically appropriate solutions. * Strong commercial negotiation and closing skills. * Excellent communication and presentation skills. * The confidence to engage with customers at operational, technical and senior management level. * A proactive, self-motivated and entrepreneurial approach to business development. * The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international technical and commercial teams. * Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and attend customer sites and industry events. * A full UK driving licence.
