Our client is a growing SME operating in the environmental sector, delivering innovative products, technologies and installation services across wastewater, energy-from-waste, municipal waste and industrial markets worldwide. They have recently developed and acquired new technologies to support their expansion in the Energy from Waste (EfW) sector, strengthening their position as a technology-led solutions provider.
The Role
We are seeking a technically strong, enthusiastic and proactive Project Engineer to deliver wastewater treatment solutions from order through to commissioning. This is a varied and hands‑on role, involving early engagement with clients and the proposals team, followed by full lifecycle delivery of awarded projects. You will be responsible for managing technical, commercial and programme aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Full project management, including commercial control
- End-to-end project delivery from order placement to commissioning
- Design engineering for wastewater treatment systems
- Production of risk assessments and method statements
- Design risk assessments and HAZOPs
- Technical support to the sales and proposals team
- Attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving during delivery and operation
- After-sales technical support to clients
- Supporting wider business activities in line with the needs of a growing SME
About You
You will be a capable and motivated engineer with strong wastewater industry experience and the confidence to manage projects both technically and commercially.
Qualifications
- An HNC (or equivalent experience) in a MEICA-related discipline
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the wastewater sector
- A proven track record in a similar project engineering or delivery role
- A good understanding of NEC engineering and construction contracts
- Strong technical and commercial communication skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strategic, creative and solutions-driven mindset
- The ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team
Location & Working Pattern
The role is based at our Bough Beech, Kent office, with occasional travel to sites, suppliers and clients. We operate a hybrid working model of three days in the office and two days working from home.
