The Opportunity
We are looking for a Weighbridge & Logistics Coordinator to join a busy site and play a key role in managing the movement of materials and vehicles in and out of the facility.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining weighbridge operations, logistics coordination, paperwork and yard support.
You will be responsible for ensuring incoming and outgoing traffic is managed efficiently, records are accurate and materials are correctly checked, planned and moved around the site.
The role will suit someone who is organised and confident dealing with drivers, hauliers and site teams, but who is also happy to get involved in the yard when required.
A valid forklift licence is essential, as you will assist the yard team with loading and unloading materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the site weighbridge and manage all incoming and outgoing vehicle movements.
- Register vehicles and record accurate weights, loads and relevant material information.
- Check incoming and outgoing materials to ensure they meet required quality and specification standards.
- Maintain accurate weighbridge records, paperwork and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed, organised and filed correctly.
- Coordinate and plan the movement of materials inbound and outbound.
- Liaise with drivers, hauliers, suppliers, customers and internal teams to ensure efficient vehicle movements.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials using a forklift truck where required.
- Support the yard team to ensure materials are stored, handled and moved safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of stock and material movements.
- Support the wider site operation with additional duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and commercially aware, with the ability to balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on operational work.
Ideally, you will have experience within a weighbridge, waste management, recycling, logistics, manufacturing, aggregates or similar environment.
You will need
- Previous experience in a weighbridge, logistics, transport or yard-based role.
- Good organisational and administration skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing paperwork, records and material movements.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with drivers, suppliers and customers.
- The ability to check materials and identify issues with quality or specifications.
- Good IT skills and the ability to use weighbridge or operational systems.
- A valid forklift truck licence and practical experience operating a forklift.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively in a busy site environment.
- The Person
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a role that is not purely office-based.
You will be equally comfortable managing paperwork and computer systems as you are coordinating vehicles and getting involved in the physical movement of materials around the site.
You will be a key point of contact between drivers, logistics, the weighbridge, yard and wider site operation, helping to ensure materials and vehicles move through the facility safely, efficiently and accurately.
If you have weighbridge or logistics experience, hold a forklift licence and are looking for a varied operational role within a busy environment, we would like to hear from you.
