About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our clients operations team, following their successful bid to manage a large wastewater contract. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful completion of routine, reactive, and remedial maintenance across operational sites. You will play a key role in ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will also participate in an out-of-hours emergency standby rota, attending call-outs promptly and carrying out repairs to maintain compliance and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily routine maintenance on a variety of treatment facilities, including cleaning, sampling, and general maintenance tasks
- Perform repairs and replacements on a wide range of pumping and treatment plant assets
- Undertake fault finding on mechanical systems, demonstrating a strong “first-time fix” approach
- Respond to emergency and planned recovery work as required
- Conduct confined space entries, including plant repairs and tank cleaning when necessary
- Work closely with your Manager and Delivery Technician to identify and implement optimisation opportunities, helping to reduce operational costs
- Assist in planning daily routes to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Maintain excellent Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) standards at all times
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to Head Office via PDA, phone, email, teleconference, and photographic reporting
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience working with a broad range of water and wastewater treatment technologies
- Knowledge of water and wastewater pumping systems
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices, with a demonstrable safety-first approach
- Good knowledge of environmental legislation
- Hands-on experience in routine maintenance, sampling, and mechanical repair work
- Full, valid driving licence
