Slough, Berkshire

£- Attractive salary plus commission scheme

Our client is an award winning, independently owned waste management operator. A vacancy currently exists for a Bid Writer to join the company’s bid team in Slough.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the Bid Manager with compiling bids and co-ordinating and writing responses, producing tenders offering sustainable waste management solutions tailored to each customer's requirements.

One week you could be compiling a bid for a multi-site retail or property management company, the next for an NHS Trust, local authority or other public-sector body. You’ll need the ability to put yourself in customers’ shoes and see behind the questions being asked.

This is more than just a bid-writing role; you will play a hands-on part in assisting the commercial team involved in devising sustainable and innovative waste proposals for customers with ‘waste streams’ that include general waste, recyclables, hazardous waste and clinical waste.

Candidate requirements:

Ideally, you’ll be educated to degree level and have studied environmental/sustainability-focused subjects/modules. Previous bid writing or similar experience in the waste industry would be an advantage, but a high standard of written and verbal English is essential for producing professional tender documents. A full UK driving licence is essential for attending customer site visits across the South of England.

Work hours are 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri, although flexibility will be required in order to meet deadlines.
