This is a practical role based at a busy waste transfer site, working outdoors year-round as part of a supportive and experienced team.

The role is focused on the daily operation of site machinery, including excavators, material handlers, and telehandlers, supporting the efficient movement and processing of waste. Occasional general site duties will also form part of the role where required.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced machine driver; however, we are also open to candidates looking to develop their plant skills within a stable, long-term role. Experience is preferred; however, tickets are not essential as full training will be provided on-site. Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to gain BRITTOp (BRITTOP) certification, including training on excavators, material handlers, and telehandlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating site plant and machinery, including excavators, material handlers, and telehandlers
  • Loading, sorting, and moving waste streams safely and efficiently
  • Supporting day-to-day waste transfer site operations
  • Assisting with vehicle tipping and site logistics
  • Maintaining a safe, tidy, and efficient working environment
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service
Skills & Experience
  • Preferred:
  • Experience operating excavators, material handlers and telehandlers (8–16 tonne)
  • Previous experience within waste, recycling, or similar environments
  • Essential:
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong awareness of health & safety
  • Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
