About the Role
This role generally works in a team of two with one person driving and operating the sweeping truck and the other person out of the truck labouring which involves physical work. This role is primarily labouring and once trained will involve driving the sweeper also. You'll be following a set route to clean streets, car parks and other public areas.
This is generally a 40 hour per week Monday to Friday role with some early starts required at times and will include some Saturday work, therefore the successful applicant will need to have some flexibility.
General Responsibilities
- Manual handling including assisting with the sweeping machinery such as overhead sucker pipes
- Drive utes to help clean streets, car parks and other public areas
- Assist the Sweeper Truck drivers as a labourer in their vehicle
- Ensure paperwork is completed accurately at the end of each day
- Operate sweeper trucks (once trained) to clean streets, car parks and other public areas including changing centre/side brooms, using the hand sweep channel, and using the overhead pipe
To be Successful, you will have:
- A Class 2 licence and full drivers licence
- A sound understanding and appreciation of workplace health & safety
- A good level of physical fitness
- A great work ethic, with a team player attitude
