About the role
If you enjoy hands-on work, being out and about, and operating a variety of machinery, this Driver / Labourer role in Timaru could be a great fit. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as blower vacuums, sweepers, compactors, and water blaster trucks. Your work will support daily waste operations across the CBD, ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-quality service. No two days will look the same, and you’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, and getting the job done right.
This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with start times that may be as early as 4am. Occasional weekend work and occasional support in Oamaru may be required, so flexibility is important.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of driving experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
- A full driver’s licence with Class 2 (Class 4 is a bonus)
- F, D and G endorsement (preferred)
- Someone who is flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude
- Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad (preferred not essential)
- Solutions-focused and customer-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and juggle multiple priorities
- A team player with a good work ethic
Additional Information
You must have New Zealand work rights to be considered for this role. All applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol screening and complete a Ministry of Justice check prior to any job offer.
