We are a growing waste/recycling collection company operating in Surrey and surrounding areas for over 30 years. Still run by the original family that started it in 1994, our values on service quality have proven to set us apart from our competitors. About You:

At AjM Disposal, we are looking for an individual with an outstanding work ethic and a safety-first attitude to join our team full-time. The Swamper/Waste Collector position is responsible for collecting residential solid wastes, including recycling, garbage and organics. The collection and disposal of solid waste materials is routine manual work involving sharp detail and good hand-eye coordination in all weather conditions. This posting is for full-time, Mon-Fri, with an average of 35-45hrs per week with overtime.

Job Duties include arriving on time for a shift in our yard (Surrey), loading the collection vehicles at a fast pace while considering road/site conditions, and reporting to drivers any issues involving customer, route and collection issues throughout the day.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively
  • Perform duties in all weather conditions, year-round
  • Fluent English skills, both written and verbal
  • NO previous back/knee/shoulder injuries
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and willing to complete scheduled routes
  • Be comfortable around all household waste materials, including garbage and organics

Assets but not required:

  • Industry experience (Waste/Recycling collection)
  • Experience playing sports
  • Knowledge of local roadways throughout Metro Vancouver

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Wage: $22+ (depending on experience)
