Our client is at the forefront of waste recycling and specialist vehicle services across the South West of England. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive to drive new business opportunities within their tankered waste and road sweeping divisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive sales professional who enjoys being out in the field, developing relationships and taking ownership of their own sales territory. This is a genuine new business development role, focused on identifying opportunities, generating leads and converting them into profitable, long-term contracts. You will take ownership of your territory, developing a pipeline of prospects and building relationships with customers who require specialist waste management and vehicle services.
Your focus will be on the construction and demolition sectors, with opportunities to develop business within facilities management and other relevant markets. Working across Gloucestershire, South Wales, Bristol, Somerset and through to Swindon, you will spend much of your time out meeting customers, prospecting for new business and developing your market.
- Proactively identify, research and generate new business opportunities across your territory.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects, from initial contact through to successful contract award.
- Promote the company's tankered waste and road sweeping services to new and existing customers.
- Arrange and attend customer meetings, site visits and sales presentations.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and close new business.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities and pipeline progress.
- Monitor market developments and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure a smooth transition from winning new business to service delivery.
We are looking for a commercially minded, self-motivated sales professional who knows how to open doors, build relationships and win business.
- A proven track record in new business development and B2B sales.
- Experience managing a sales territory and developing a consistent pipeline of opportunities.
- Strong prospecting, networking, negotiation and closing skills.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the territory.
- An understanding of the waste management sector would be beneficial, particularly experience with tankered waste, road sweeping or associated environmental services. However, the priority is finding someone with the right sales skills, attitude and determination to succeed.
- Experience selling into construction and demolition, facilities management or related industrial markets would also be advantageous.
£35,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience. An excellent commission structure with significant earning potential. Flexibility around a company car, car allowance or use of a company vehicle. The opportunity to take ownership of a defined territory and make a tangible impact on business growth. The chance to join an established business operating in essential waste recycling and specialist vehicle service markets.
