Environmental Support in Manchester

Location: Manchester City Council
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week – Mon-Fri
About the Role
We\’re looking for confident, committed people to join our team as an Environmental Enforcement Officer. The role is straightforward: you\’ll spend your day on foot patrol across the city centre and outer boroughs, identifying environmental offences and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) to offenders.

What You\’ll Do

• Patrol busy areas and outer boroughs on foot throughout your shift
• Challenge and issue FPNs to individuals committing offences such as littering, dog fouling, and fly-tipping
• Record activity accurately in reports and statements
• Educate the public on environmental responsibilities
• Work independently and as part of a supportive enforcement team

What We\’re Looking For

• Strong communication skills and professional presence
• Resilience and confidence when dealing with the public
• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor patrols in all weather
• Reliable, proactive, and detail-focused
• Driving licence preferred (not essential)

What We Offer

• £13.50 per hour, full-time, permanent contract
• 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday shifts between 8am-4pm
