We are currently looking for a Tour Accountant. This role is primarily responsible for settling the financial aspects of our clients' tours for the agency. The duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Confirming the accuracy of all settlement details (compensation, withholding tax, deductions).
- Acting as the liaison between our agents, clients, and clients' business managers to ensure all tours are settled in a timely manner.
- Double checking settlement details of all shows/tours and confirming artist was fully compensated for the show/tour – via funds paid to the agency, funds paid to the artist, or a combination thereof and processing any applicable refunds due to cancellations.
- Verifying and noting applicable deductions and/or withholding tax that occurred at the source.
- Assessing and calculating Wasserman Music's liability to withhold non-resident withholding tax.
- Verifying and charging back any expenses where applicable.
- Preparing and handling tour statements from start to finish – sending initial draft to RA for approval and following up on subsequent reviews/changes from artists management team. Resolving any issues or discrepancies to ensure Wasserman Music and clients' records are balanced. Submitting statements due to clients and collecting funds due to Wasserman Music.
- Providing financial analysis for all artist advances and/or loan requests and overseeing the disbursement and repayment of the approved advances/loans.
- Overseeing and providing support for Junior members of staff.
- Assisting in identifying and labelling funds when needed.
- Maintaining the highest degree of artists' financial confidentiality.
- Taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience with live events/touring experience is a plus.
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
- Impeccable communication skills (oral, interpersonal, and written).
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and to anticipate issues that may arise proactively and quickly determine next steps.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be able to effectively perform tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
