What you will be doing:
- This role will form a key part of the support team for our Rights and Properties businesses as we look to more effectively target market opportunities by sector and geography.
- It will primarily focus on:
- Sales strategy & planning support
- Geography, sector, sport and company-specific research
- Key business contact strategy and sourcing
- Supporting overall brand narrative communications to prospects
Key responsibilities:
- Primary and secondary research into popularity of sports and sports properties
- Thorough industry and company reports identifying new sponsorship opportunities
- Manage a database of prospects and key business contacts across a variety of sectors
- Staying up to date and informed of all relevant brand and industry specific news as well as sports sponsorship deals and trends
- Highlighting KPI's for why businesses may want to engage in sponsorship
- Assist the sales team with specialised knowledge on industries and companies
- Help build content for sales decks for external meetings
- Generate reports that analyse competition and customer insight
- Identify synergies between prospect and property for potential sales opportunity
Skills & Experience required:
- Fully competent at Microsoft Excel
- 6 months+ in a commercial / operational role within sports, marketing agency or consumer brand environments
- Experience in conducting research to support commercial / marketing proposals
- Pro-active, can-do approach to identifying and extracting relevant insights from data
- An interest in sports and how, where and why brands engage with sport sponsorship
- Fluent English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to multi-task as multiple sales processes proceed in parallel
- Diligent / attentive to detail
- Effective communicator
- Inquisitive nature, willing to challenge previously held assumptions
- Commitment to get projects "over the line" when under time pressure
