Through its retail division, Castle Fine Art galleries, the company operates around 40 commercial galleries nationwide, offering a luxury, gallery-standard experience to customers. The galleries exclusively showcase Washington Green artworks, including originals, signed limited edition prints, and sculptures that are highly collectible and produced to exceptional quality standards. Artists represented include internationally recognized names such as Bob Dylan, Ronnie Wood, Billy Connolly, and Paul Kenton, among many others. This is a full-time, on-site Sales Manager role based in our Castle Fine Art gallery in Marlow covering maternity leave. The Sales Manager will lead daily gallery operations, driving sales of original artworks, limited edition prints, and sculptures while delivering a high-end, consultative customer experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Coaching and motivating the gallery team
- Setting and monitoring sales targets
- Ensuring that every visitor receives professional, engaging, and knowledgeable service
- Managing the presentation of the gallery
- Organizing and supporting artist events and private viewings
- Maintaining strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Handling reporting, inventory oversight, and collaboration with head office on marketing initiatives
- Consistently upholding brand standards and the luxury positioning of the gallery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in consultative sales, ideally in luxury retail, galleries, or other high-end customer-facing environments
- Strong leadership skills, with experience coaching, motivating, and developing a sales team to meet and exceed targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service
- Commercial awareness and confidence working to sales targets, KPIs, and budgets, with a results-driven and proactive approach
- High level of professionalism, personal presentation, and attention to detail in maintaining a luxury gallery environment
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and events, and thrive in a fast-paced, target-focused setting
- An interest in contemporary art and collectables, with the ability to learn and talk confidently about artists, collections, and techniques
- Competence with basic IT systems and point-of-sale tools; experience with CRM systems or client databases is advantageous
- Previous experience in Marlow or similar local markets, with knowledge of the local clientele, is beneficial but not essential
- Relevant qualifications or training in sales, retail management, art, or business
