Are you an innovative campaigns expert who loves developing impactful, insight‑led creative campaigns that change behaviours? If so, we’d love you to join us at Warwickshire Police to strengthen our campaigns capability to build public trust and confidence through communications.
You’ll play a key role in driving concepts across a broad portfolio of short and longer‑term projects through to delivery and evaluation, working across brand awareness, operational and organisational priorities, influencing awareness and behaviour change. You’ll be confident with digital and traditional channels and able to advise on and implement the best solutions to have measurable impact on force goals.
You’ll be a self‑starter, able to generate ideas and deliver at pace as well as working effectively as part of a busy team, playing a part in delivering the force’s operational communications responsibilities 24/7 through communications advice, guidance and activity.
This role supports Warwickshire Police’s mission to serve and protect our communities, in turn, building trust and confidence.
The main purpose of the role is to develop impactful insight‑led creative campaigns to drive operational outcomes against strategic priorities for the force.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver creative campaigning activities, strategies and programmes of work that support force ambition to build trust and confidence – creating insight‑led plans, using organic and paid channels and measurable outcomes.
- Create impactful and creative campaign content for a variety of audiences in a variety of formats, to reach and influence different communities.
- Stay abreast of developing campaigning techniques and tactics and evaluation methods to measure the success of campaigns and play a leading role in the wider team’s ability to develop new campaigning ideas and fresh approaches.
- Contribute to the creation, management and publishing of original and high‑quality storytelling content, to support force operational and strategic priorities, across various platforms using graphic design, pictures, video and copywriting.
- Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including media organisations, agencies, partners and community‑based organisations to mobilise support and scale up the impact of Warwickshire Police campaigns.
- Participate in the team duty desk and on‑call rotas to contribute to commitment to provide 24/7 availability of tactical communications advice and action in response to operational requirements.
- Use every opportunity commensurate with other duties to promote the work, vision and values of Warwickshire Police, ensuring a high level of customer service in all dealings with internal stakeholders, partners and the public, and ensuring continuous development of skills, knowledge and creativity.
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Knowledge:
- A degree in a specialist relevant subject such as communications, journalism or media or a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of current and emerging marketing and campaign theory, change communications, systems and tools including AI.
- Knowledge of how to produce content in a wide range of formats including graphic design, pictures, video and copywriting, for distribution and consumption across multimedia platforms.
Experience:
- Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating multi‑channel communications campaigns for a range of audiences to build brand awareness and influence behaviours.
- Experience of producing content in a wide range of formats including graphic design, pictures, video and copywriting, for distribution and consumption across multimedia platforms.
- Experience of delivering internal and external communications within a large and complex organisation.
- Experience of leading communication projects and initiatives from concept to implementation and evaluation.
- Experience of delivering change communications.
- Experience of juggling multiple priorities in communications with varying timeframes, stakeholders, audiences and channels.
- Experience of using local, regional and national media and influencers to deliver communications in line with organisational aims and objectives.
- Experience of delivering tactical communication plans to effectively manage complex, high‑profile, fast moving and politically sensitive incidents or operations.

Special Conditions:
- This post has been designated as ‘Politically Sensitive’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended).
- Travel throughout the Warwickshire Policing Area, with peripatetic working as required.
- On call commitment as part of team rota, estimated to be one week in every six.
- Requirement to work unsociable hours including weekends.
- The duties of this post may expose the post holder to disturbing/unpleasant images.
