Support

Candidates will receive ongoing support from Station-Based Recruitment Champions throughout the process stages, including preparatory guidance, taster days, practice sessions, and access to support at their local fire station. Our 6 week physical workout plan includes a series of cardio and strength training exercises, using your own body weight as resistance. We also have β€˜FireFit’ videos which will give you an insight into each of the role related physical tests.

The Application Process

Once you have submitted your application and the address you have chosen to respond from has been verified to be within 5 minutes travel time of the Fire Station, you will be invited to attend the following stages:

  • Stage 1: On-Call Firefighter Awareness Briefing Sessions (optional) – Starting February 2026
