Overview

Permanent position, 20 hours per week, hybrid working. Based in Warwickshire County Council's Commercial and Contracts Service in Finance. The successful candidate will work with waste services suppliers to ensure the accuracy of waste management data and financial billing, investigate discrepancies, and manage the administration of invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with waste services suppliers to ensure the accuracy of waste management data and financial billing; investigate and identify the cause of any discrepancies; manage the administration of invoices.
  • Operate in a dynamic and detail-orientated environment; be well organized with a positive attitude; adapt to changing workloads and consistently deliver to fixed deadlines; take ownership and prioritise your own workload; collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and other Local Council officers.
  • Demonstrate good computer literacy and keyboard skills; be competent in Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Excel); handle numerical data and data analysis; use Excel functions (alongside other applications) to optimise productivity and capacity; communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Handle and respond to telephone queries from members of the public, elected members, suppliers and other local authority staff; maintain a customer-focused approach and provide solutions to support the delivery of key services.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Good computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel); ability to work with numerical data and perform data analysis; basic mathematics; able to use Excel functions and other applications to support work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent self-starter with initiative, able to prioritise own workload; capable team player; adaptable to hybrid/part-time working.
