The Minor Works Engineering Team sits within Warwickshire County Council's County Highways Group. We are responsible for delivering a wide range of small-scale highway improvement projects that make a big impact in our communities. From delegated budgets and S106 schemes to HS2-related works and community-led initiatives, our team plays a vital role in shaping safe, accessible, and sustainable infrastructure across the county.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader - Minor Works Engineering to lead a dedicated team of engineers, delivery officers, and technicians. You will oversee the programming and delivery of minor highway projects, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This is a politically restricted post based in Budbrooke, and you will also deputise for the Forestry & Minor Works Service Manager when required.

Key Requirements

  • Substantial post-professional experience in engineering or transport planning
  • Strong leadership and complex problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets and project programmes
  • Excellent communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience in staff recruitment, development, and performance management
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, CDM regulations, and quality management procedures
  • Sector 12D Accreditation
  • Familiarity with Warwickshire's Local Transport Plan and Transport Asset Management Plan
  • Experience in managing organisational change and motivating teams
