You will join the Transport Delivery team within the Transport & Highways service area, part of the wider Communities Group. The team plays a vital role in delivering home-to-school transport and supporting local bus services, working closely with operators, schools, colleagues, and partners to meet the needs of residents across Warwickshire.

The Contracts & Compliance function supports this work by ensuring strong financial control, accurate data, and effective contract management.

As a Contracts Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of transport services through accurate processing, financial administration, and contract management activities. You will be responsible for processing payments to operators and parents, including cyclical invoices and travel payments, as well as raising purchase orders and maintaining supplier records using the Agresso finance system. Working closely with colleagues across Transport Delivery, you will help ensure the accuracy of contract information, student data, and financial records. You will also support the management of the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), including publishing tenders and assisting with procurement activity.

This role requires strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. You will also act as a key point of contact for queries, maintaining positive working relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of using Agresso (or similar finance systems) to raise orders, process invoices, and manage payments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to respond to queries clearly and professionally
  • Experience maintaining and updating databases and financial records
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate information
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Experience in a customer service or administrative environment
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics
