The team delivers high-quality training across a range of specialist areas, working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to maintain excellent standards and realistic training environments.

Role Overview

As an Operational Training Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of operational training across WFRS.

This is a varied and hands‑on role where you'll provide practical, logistical and administrative support to ensure training activities run efficiently and effectively.

You will help prepare and maintain training facilities, equipment and resources, support safe and realistic training delivery, including working with specialist facilities such as the hot fire simulator, and assist with the creation of training materials, maintaining accurate records, coordinating equipment maintenance and supporting joint training exercises with partner agencies.

This role is based at our Training and Development Centres, with travel across different locations and the ability to work evenings and weekends where required to support service needs.

We are looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of operational training across WFRS.
  • Prepare and maintain training facilities, equipment and resources.
  • Assist in creating training materials and maintaining accurate records.

  • Travel across training centres and work evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience of maintaining records and working with databases.
  • Full driving licence, including LGV Category C, and willingness to travel.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.
  • Manual handling training (or willingness to obtain).
