We are looking to recruit an outstanding teacher to join Warwickshire's Specialist Teaching Service. This Service supports schools in their strategic response to meeting the needs of learners with cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health, as well as communication and interaction needs.
We are looking for experienced and skilled mainstream practitioners to work in a Service that has considerable experience of working with schools for over twenty years. This post requires the ability to be skilled, organised and flexible in a high-pressure environment. We welcome candidates with a strong customer-care ethos in supporting schools to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils.
Key Requirements- Qualified teacher educated to degree level, with a specialist SEND postgraduate qualification (or working towards one) and/or extensive experience working with learners with SEND.
- Significant and successful post-qualification mainstream experience with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of SEND effective practice and issues.
- Ability to influence and support senior leaders in schools and settings, promoting excellent, evidence-based practice to meet an increasingly diverse range of needs and to influence practice at an earlier stage.
- Ability to support schools to increase the knowledge and confidence of primary and secondary school staff in meeting the needs of CYP with SEND.
- Experience and expertise to empower families and service users.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting unpredictable deadlines and managing competing demands effectively.
- Ability to be part of the 'team around the child', working flexibly, to develop and share creative approaches, positively influencing the practice of others through training and coaching.
The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
Successful applicants will be subject to a range of pre-engagement checks, including a relevant Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. In accordance with the DBS code of practice and our policy, should an individual have a declared criminal offence an individual assessment will be completed. Warwickshire County Council adheres to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Eligible teachers will be opted into the Teachers Pension Scheme, which includes an employer contribution rate of typically around 28 percent, to help support your financial security during retirement.
