Job Overview
As a Family Practitioner, you will provide targeted, trauma‑informed support to families, focusing on improving safety, strengthening relationships, and promoting positive outcomes for children.
You will work holistically with both parents and children, using evidence‑based approaches to address the impact of domestic abuse and support sustainable behavioural change.
Location
Primarily based in Nuneaton & Bedworth, with work taking place across community settings, including family homes and partner agencies within the local area.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted, trauma‑informed support to families, focusing on improving safety, strengthening relationships, and promoting positive outcomes for children.
- Work holistically with parents and children using evidence‑based approaches to address the impact of domestic abuse and support sustainable behavioural change.
- Contribute to multi‑agency working, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all interventions and safeguarding remains a priority.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and/or group interventions where appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners such as social care, education, health, and criminal justice services.
- Support families to understand the impact of domestic abuse, build resilience, and promote behaviour change for those who have abused.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience of demonstrably effective continuous Family Support Work or as a Family Practitioner.
- Experience working directly with children and families in a safeguarding or domestic abuse context.
- Strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on child development, parenting capacity, and family dynamics.
- Knowledge of evidence‑based interventions for domestic abuse.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken English (Fluency Duty Required).
- Experience delivering one‑to‑one and/or group interventions is desirable.
