A creative and user-focused content professional to help deliver one of Warwick Students' Union's most significant digital transformation projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in reviewing, rewriting and creating engaging website content that helps students find information quickly, access services easily and connect with everything Warwick Students' Union has to offer.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation and the website project team, you will ensure website content is clear, accessible, accurate and reflects the needs of our diverse student community. You'll also help establish sustainable content management processes that will support the website long after the project is complete.

What’s on offer:

Salary: Pro-rated £16,988 to £18,911 (full-time equivalent salary -£29,729 TO £33,093). Plus excellent benefits including holidays and a contributory pension scheme.

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week. Some evening or weekend work will be required from time to time and will be agreed in advance.

Location: Warwick Students' Union, University of Warwick Campus.Hybrid working arrangements may be available subject to business needs.

What’s the role?

As Website Content Coordinator, you'll play a central role in the redevelopment of Warwick Students' Union's website by leading the review, development and creation of high-quality digital content. You'll work collaboratively with departments across the organisation to ensure our website is user-centred, accessible and aligned with our brand, while supporting a seamless transition to a new digital platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the audit, review and redevelopment of website content across Warwick Students' Union, ensuring content is relevant, engaging and meets user needs.
  • Write, edit and proofread high-quality website copy that reflects Warwick SU's tone of voice, brand values and accessibility standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to gather information, understand services and translate complex information into clear, student-friendly content.
  • Apply user research, content strategy and digital best practice to improve website usability, navigation and overall user experience.
  • Collaborate with the website project team to ensure content aligns with the new website structure, design and project milestones.
  • Support content migration, quality assurance and population of the new website using the content management system.
  • Contribute to the development of content governance processes, editorial standards and sustainable workflows that support long-term website maintenance.
  • Build positive relationships across departments, embedding collaborative approaches that ensure website content remains accurate, relevant and up to date.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A

MAIN PURPOSE FOR ROLE: To lead the review, redevelopment and

creation of website content as part of Warwick Students' Union's website transformation project.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and the website project team, the postholder will audit existing content, develop engaging and accessible new content, and ensure all website copy reflects user needs, research insights and Warwick SU's brand.

The role will play a key part in delivering a modern, user-focused website that improves the student experience while establishing sustainable content management practices to support the website beyond the project.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTED STANDARDS

Content Review and Development

  • Audit and review existing website content across all areas of the Students' Union.
  • Assess content against user needs, project objectives and research findings.
  • Identify content that should be retained, revised, consolidated or removed.
  • Rewrite existing content to improve clarity, consistency, accessibility and user experience.
  • Create new content where required, ensuring information is accurate, relevant and engaging.
  • Ensure all content reflects Warwick SU's brand, values and tone of voice.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with teams across the Students' Union to understand their services, objectives and communication requirements.
  • Facilitate content-gathering discussions and workshops with colleagues as required.
  • Translate complex information into accessible, student-friendly content.
  • Act as a key point of contact for website content development throughout the project.

Website Redevelopment Project

  • Work closely with the website project team to deliver content that aligns with the new website structure, design and user journeys.
  • Apply user research findings and content strategy recommendations to all content development activity.
  • Ensure content is delivered to agreed timelines and project milestones.
  • Support content migration and population of the new website where required.

Content Governance and Sustainability

  • Contribute to the development of a clear, centralised content management process for the new website.
  • Help establish content standards, guidance and workflows to support ongoing website maintenance.
  • Support the transition of website management into a business-as-usual model within the Communications & Marketing team.
  • Embed sustainable and collaborative working practices between Communications & Marketing and other SU departments to ensure content remains accurate and up to date after project completion.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Demonstrable experience writing, editing and proofreading content for websites or other digital channels.
  • Experience managing complex content projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience gathering information from subject matter experts and translating it into engaging content for target audiences.
  • Experience reviewing and improving content for usability, readability and accessibility.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to take copy written in company format and rework into web and social media content that is engaging and student focused.
  • Exceptional written communication and copywriting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with demanding and competing deadlines.
