About the Role

Education Operationshas an exciting opportunity foraSeniorFacultyTimetablingOfficerto join our teamat a time when we are looking to transform our approach to timetabling. Aspart of a pilot project,therolewillbridgecentral and departmental professional services, allowing you to gain insightsinto the in ner workingsof a broad range ofare as.As well as providing a keyoperationalservice,you willbe responsible fordesigningimprovementsand contributingto theongoing project toimplementnewtimetabling software.

Our goal is to deliver a service that reflects the University’s vision of ‘Excellence with Purpose’ by underpinning our service with the University’s core values.The post-holder willwork closely with the faculty and departmental administrative teamsandinteract with the senior leadership ofthe departments to produce timetables that meet teaching requirements and to identifythe approachthat will optimise the timetabling processes and outputs.

The University aims tomovetoamore coherent and effectivemode of operation for timetabling, and this rolewill be instrumental inexploring the possibilities and shaping our future direction.There is potential for the role to continue beyond the 1-year fixed term.

About You

The successful candidatewillbeenthusiastic about providing an excellent experience to students and staffby creating timetables thatenable them to thrive in theireducationexperienceat the University.The core focus is the creation and management ofschedules, which requires patience,creativity,excellent attention to detail and the ability to work through complex data and scheduling challenges in a structured and methodical way. You will gain satisfaction fromproducingaccurateoutcomes and seeing complex pieces of information come together into a timetable that works for staff and students.

The role isalsokey to our implementation ofa new approachto timetabling at Warwick and you will have akeeninterest inmaking improvements toadministrative processes, as well asthe creativity tocome up withnew ideasfor how thesecanbe delivered.This requires the ability to see beyond ourcurrent, well-established ways of operating.

This work will involve interaction with a wide range of staff and students. Alongside being comfortable with the use of technology and digital tools, you willneedstrong interpersonal skills , includingtheabilityto listen empathetically, so that you canidentifythe bestcourse of actionin theface of competing priorities.You will have a passion for inclusion anddiversityand the role will involve bringinginfairertimetable allocationsfor our diverse body of students and staff.

About the Department

Education Operations is a newly established Directorate bringing together teams from Education Policy and Quality, Student Administrative Services, and Student Complaintsand Academic Casework into a more connected and integrated professional services function.

Our focus is on supporting excellent education delivery across the University by reducing complexity, improving consistency, strengthening governance and creating more seamless experiences for students and staff. We work across the academic lifecycle, from curriculum and assessment through to student records, casework, quality assurance and academic governance.
