The Student Voice Coordinator role is an entry-level role within the Student Voice and Representation team. The role requires you to support our student representatives, work with our student members to drive initiatives, projects and campaigns to create impact and change, and assist in the smooth running of our academic representation system. The Student Voice Coordinator role will work closely with the Student Voice and Representation Manager to support our Academic Rep system, our Democratic structures and flagship SU campaigns, projects and events.

What’s on offer

  • Salary: From £29,729 to £33,093 per annum, plus excellent benefits including holidays and a contributory pension scheme.
  • Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week. Some evening or weekend work will be required from time to time and will be agreed in advance.
  • Location: 2 days per week working from home, 3 days per week from Warwick Students’ Union, Gibbet Hill Road, Coventry, CV4 7AL. This will be subject to change depending on needs of the business. Occasional off-site working is required.
  • Closing Date: Monday, 22 June 2026 at 09:00
  • Interview Date: Thursday, 2 July 2026. Interviews will be held on the University of Warwick Campus, Coventry.
  • Benefits: 20 days holiday plus no less than a total of 18 days at Christmas, Easter, New Year, May Day, Spring and Late Summer bank holidays or days in lieu thereof, a dedicated wellbeing programme, cycle to work scheme, employee assistance programme, substantial pension scheme and salary extras.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with elected Officers, student representatives, members and colleagues to ensure that student involvement is relevant and enacted throughout organisation’s democratic and academic representation structures and project plans.
  • Provide strategic advice and practical support to our elected Officers and student representatives to deliver their campaigns and manifesto priorities, ensuring they align with the organisation’s long-term strategy.
  • Support the delivery of high impact student engagement, democratic and academic representation systems that empower students to shape their experience and create meaningful change.
  • Nurture and develop relationships and networks with members, Officers, SU colleagues, the University and other stakeholders to strengthen the impact of the democratic and academic representation structures within the Students’ Union.

Main Responsibilities and Expected Standards

  • Academic Representation: Support and advise our Academic Representatives, ensuring they are well-placed to represent and lobby for their cohort, this will include delivering effective and meaningful trainings conducive to the role and establishing a presence in your assigned Faculty.
  • Continue to build knowledge of the Academic Representation structure for each faculty and department to support effective academic representation.
  • Support our Academic Representation structure, attending the relevant meeting and ensuring our databases are accurate.
  • Support for Elected Students: Work with Full-Time and Part-Time Officers to strategically map out, facilitate and coordinate campaigns, projects and manifesto points; this includes sharing expertise on the Students’ Union strategy and how to structure a campaign, ensuring Officers remain engaged and invested throughout.
  • Empower elected Officers and student representatives to influence decision-making at all levels, within the scope of the charitable aims.
  • Democratic Engagement: Maintain a detailed understanding of governing documents and policy frameworks relevant to SU democracy and representation.
  • Support the delivery of our Spring Officer Elections nominations phase, by ensuring we procure a high number of candidates who are invested in the process, well-trained in how to campaign and aware of the election rules.
  • Support the delivery of our Spring Officer Elections Vote Week that is effective in driving up our voter numbers and creating an exciting and fun campus-wide experience.
  • Support the delivery of an engaging and informative All Members’ Meeting, ensuring that the night can deliver what is legally required as a Students’ Union whilst remaining interesting and exciting to our membership.
  • Support our Forum structures, guaranteeing that agendas and action trackers are distributed on time and that each Forum occurs at least twice a term.
  • Support our Scrutiny Panel, coordinate panels, the panellists are appropriately trained and the Full-Time Officers are prepared.
  • Support our Student Council, guaranteeing that agendas and minutes are distributed on time, that Student Councillors feel prepared to contribute to the space and the website includes updates on the activities of our Student Council.
  • Support our All Students Votes, guaranteeing that the referendum is up on the website.
  • Promote a high-quality employment experience for our student-staff roles – specifically Decolonise Advocates and Democracy Assistants - ensuring they are supported and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities, whilst encouraging a culture of curiosity, development and meaningful engagement with the Students’ Union.
  • Projects, Campaigns and Events: Support the delivery of our Union Awards by ensuring we have a high engagement number of nominations and each award is highly contested, the event itself runs effectively and is an engaging event for our membership, our colleagues and University Staff.
  • Support the delivery of our Decolonise Project alongside our Decolonise Advocates, ensuring Decolonise Advocates are supported in the administrative aspects of project-management and event planning and enabling the effective running of the annual Liberation Conference.
  • Support the delivery of our Welcome Week daytime events alongside our Part-Time and Full-Time Officers by providing operational event support and ensuring our elected Officers are prepared to facilitate the events.
  • Support the development, coordination and delivery of student-led projects and campaigns, ensuring students are supported to identify priorities, create meaningful change, and deliver impactful outcomes aligned with the SU’s strategic aims.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with relevant Students’ Union colleagues and University staff to deliver all of the above, establishing stronger interdepartmental and cross-institution relationships that are strategic for the aims of the organisation’s strategy.
