Main Duties of the Job
As a salaried GP, you will manage and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. You will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
You will recognise the importance of great communication within the team and will strive to:

Job Responsibilities
In accordance with the agreed job plan, the salaried GP will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including:
- Surgery consultations, telephone consultations, telephone triage, visiting patients, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, processing clinical documentation, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the duty doctor rota.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate.
- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients.
- Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.
- Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes.
- Prescribe generically wherever appropriately.
- Comply with all the objectives of the QOF targets.
- Complete reports for solicitors, insurance companies and other third parties.
- Work with and support other members of the primary health care team.
- Take an active role in delivering clinical governance.
- Promote preventative health care and advice where appropriate.
- Lead on training, supervising and supporting learners.
