We are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded School Foundation in Warwickshire who are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their busy Finance team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of payroll services across the Foundation. You will lead the payroll function, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with current legislation and reporting requirements. This opportunity would suit a detail focused payroll professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has strong experience managing end to end payroll processes.
Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
Salary: £52,209 to £55,975
Contract: Fixed Term Contract 9 to 12 months Maternity Cover
Hours: 40 hours per week 9am to 5pm
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees
- Maintain and manage payroll records including pay, benefits, overtime, absence and adjustments
- Review and manually check salary calculations provided by HR and line managers
- Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements including monthly and annual reporting
- Manage submissions to pension providers and other relevant bodies
- Ensure payroll systems and records are accurate, up to date and audit ready
- Produce management information and support ad hoc reporting requirements
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll queries across the organisation
- Continuously review payroll processes to ensure efficiency and best practice
About you:
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll position
- Essential experience using iTrent payroll system
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC reporting requirements
- Experience managing end to end payroll processes in a complex organisation
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with HR and Finance teams
- Experience within education or public sector would be advantageous but not essential
